Welcome to the memorial page for

Helen Lucille (Yeiter) Bergmann

July 25, 1923 ~ December 24, 2016 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Helen Lucille Yeiter Bergmann, age 93, peacefully joined her late husband Robert William Bergmann on Christmas Eve, Saturday, December 24, 2016. Born July 25, 1923 to the late Altona (Robison) and Zina Yeiter at 247 Deshler Avenue, known as Ole Dutch Broadway in German Village, Columbus, Ohio.  Helen was a teacher for several years after graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1945.  She moved to Marion, Ohio when she married Robert William Bergmann on September 9, 1950. A long-time member of Epworth United Methodist Church, she played piano for the children’s choir while all three of her children were involved.  Hobbies included playing bridge, bicycling, piano, Buckeye football, knitting, sewing, and family activities.  Helen enjoyed volunteering at the Marion Palace Theatre and at the former Marion Medical Center Hospital. In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Robert William Bergmann, her son Douglas Robert Bergmann, and her sister, Luella Yeiter Wells. Survivors include her children: Linda Miller of Williamsburg, VA and Gregory (Stacey) Bergmann of Grandview Heights, Ohio.  Grandchildren:  Greg (Brittaney) Miller of Richmond, VA; Joel (Mary) Miller of Columbus, Ohio; Brian (fiancé Taylor) Miller of Bedford, PA; Elizabeth and Andrew Bergmann of Grandview Heights.  Great-Grandchildren:  Everett and Clark.  Also surviving are four nephews. A Memorial Service will take place at Epworth United Methodist Church; 249 E Center St.; Marion, OH on Wednesday, January 4, 2017; Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with a Service at 11:00 am. Reverend David Hoffman will preside. The family would like to thank Senior Independence Hospice at Westminster-Thurber of Columbus for their wonderful care and support during Mom's final weeks. When our dad passed away in 2008, Mom was determined to continue living on her own in her home.  She was able to do this until after her 93rd birthday in 2016.  This would not have been possible without Mom's wonderful neighbors, Rick and Gloria Hall, who helped out with things and kept an eye on Mom.  We really appreciate this kindness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be given to the Marion Community Foundation Bergmann Scholarship Fund; 504 S. State St.; Marion, OH  43302.  Accommodations have been provided by the DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME of Grandview Heights.  Online condolences may be made at www.deyodavis.com
