Alice Aleta Fowls, 95, died peacefully in her sleep on June 11, 2017 at the Kobacker House. She was an active member of Boulevard Presbyterian Church for over 60 years, where she spent many hours volunteering and participating in various activities, her favorite being the Women's Quilting Circle. Alice was born and raised on a farm outside Mt. Gilead in Morrow County, Ohio, which is where she developed her love of gardening. She moved to Columbus during World War II, and met and married her husband, Wayne, shortly after he returned from serving in the U.S. Navy. They raised their 3 sons in Grandview Heights, where they lived for over 40 years. Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Lois Kunze, husband Wayne B. Fowls, son Jerry L. Fowls, son-in-law James S. Sims and sister-in-law Norma Kunze. She is survived by her sons Dean Fowls and Randy (Barbara) Fowls, grandsons Bill (Amy) Fowls, Brian Fowls and Scott Fowls, and great grandchildren, Hannah, Haleigh, Liam, and Evangeline; sisters Florence (Dick) Lyman, Patricia (Dale) Lyman and brother Carroll Kunze as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 1578 W. First Ave., Grandview Hts., Thursday 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday 11 a.m. at Boulevard Presbyterian Church, 1235 Northwest Blvd. Interment Maple Grove Cemetery, Chesterville, Ohio.
