My sincere sympathy to each of you for your loss. Psalms 90:10 says that the usual life span is 70 or 80 years. When man was created, it was God's purpose that he would live forever. Romans 5:12 explains why death and sickness occurs. His purpose has not changed. He assures us that he will restore life to all who are in his memory right here on earth under the best of conditions.

It sounds like your dear mom was welcomed home peacefully. My Presbyterian pastor says Jesus comes to "fetch us" and personally take us to heaven. I hope you find this comforting, as I do.
Am struck by your family resemblance. Was she a wordsmith like you? As you grieve, I pray you're surprised by joy as you remember her.

She will always be remembered as our Cub Scout den mother and a wonderfully generous soul. She looked after us as kids, made sure we went to church and was a close friend to my folks, especially as my mom got older. May she rest in peace.
