Dorothy Jean (Lederer) Andrew

Dorothy Jean Andrew, 97, died peacefully on May 5, 2017.  Jean, as she preferred to be called, was born in San Francisco, lived in the Southwest as a young child, but spent her formative years growing up in Brooklyn, New York including several years after high school as an art student at the Pratt Institute.  After marriage to Kenneth Andrew and raising her daughter, Ritchie, she went on to a successful career in New York City as a publisher of nationally distributed crossword puzzle magazines.  She retired to Florida and then eventually relocated to Columbus, Ohio.  Jean was charming, brilliant, successful in business, widely travelled, a great mom, and most importantly, extraordinarily generous.  She is survived by her daughter Ritchie Margaret Laymon, her son-in-law Ronald Laymon, her brother Creighton Lederer and his wife Natalie, and by her nieces Laura Lederer, Carrie Lederer, Lisa Lederer and Sara Weertz, and nephew Robert Lederer.
