Jean Alice Gruenig passed away on April 25th surrounded by family and the caring staff at Westminster Thurber Retirement Village. She had called Westminster Thurber home for the past 6 years. Longtime Grandview Heights resident, Jean was born in Harrod Ohio on the 29th day of November 1924. Although Jean, “Jeanie Beanie” battled Alzheimer’s much of her final years, she never forgot to love and care for every person that she met. She was a celebrity in her neighborhood amongst the families and pets. She enjoyed her garden, quality quilting and being a grandma to any child she came across. Survived by her daughter Denise Larson, grandchildren Chad Davis (Melissa) and Christy Davis, 3 great grandchildren and one on the way and many nieces and nephews. Jean Alice was preceded in death by her Husband Alfred F. Gruenig, Son Kenneth Gruenig, Mother and Father Coda and Metellus Williams, Brothers and Sisters Edith (Roy) Smurr, Kent (Pauline) Williams, Helen (Guy) Leatherman, James (Shirley) Williams, Hildred Williams, Richard (Donna) Williams, Carl (Patti) Jones, Nephew Steve Williams and Great Niece Heather(Williams) Oatman. The family will receive friends Friday April 28th from 5-8PM at the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home 1177 West 5th ave Columbus OH 43212. The funeral will take place on Saturday April 29th with viewing from 10-11AM and the service beginning at 11AM. Following the funeral the family will travel to Salem Cemetery in Lima Ohio for the graveside service and burial. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
