Sincere condolences to you both on the loss of Jean. I remember her from my time at Erasmus Hall H.S., where I first met Ritchie. Jean and I went to a book discussion at a local library where a work of Kafka was to be discussed. I was quite interested in Kafka at the time and had read several biographies. When I brought up what I thought would be useful information at the discussion (I was the junior attendee by about 40 years), the leader criticized me for bringing in outside material, but Jean defended me and apologized for the leader's behavior. She was quite a woman.
