Dorothy Emily Keener

Dorothy Emily Keener passed peacefully Thursday evening, December 27, 2018, at age 96. She was born in Llano, TX on August 11, 1922, the youngest of four, received her Associate’s in Education from Texas Lutheran College, and in 1944 married Robert L Keener in Austin, TX. After WWII they moved to Ohio to live and raise their family in Central Ohio. She is preceded in death by her husband (2004) after nearly 60 years of marriage. The love and pride of her life were her six children, twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Children: Larry (Kay) Keener of Kansas City, MO; Kris Murphy (Wilson) of Lakewood Ranch, FL; Thom (Suzy) Keener of Blacklick, OH; Dennis (Peggy) Keener of Dunedin, FL; Tricia (John) Maynard of New England; and Ken (Julia) Keener of Grandview Heights, OH. Grandchildren: Tara (Matt) Murphy, Molly (Dave) Snee, Garrett (Emily) Keener, Chris Keener, Ben (Kate) Keener, Katie (Josh) Beiter, Jeff (Jessie) Keener, Seth & Olivia Wenrich, Brendan, Daniel & Carolyn Keener. Her family thanks the staff of The Gardens at Whetstone for their special care. And thanks, Mom, for all of your love and memories. Visitation will be held Friday, January 4th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus, OH 43212. Pastor David Redding of Central College Presbyterian will officiate the funeral at the same location at 10:00 a.m. January 5th. A private graveside burial will immediately follow.
