To Mary Lou's family and friends--

I worked with Mary Lou up until her retirement. I always admired her for her work ethic, her ability to laugh often and how she never seemed to have a bad day. We need more Mary Lou's around.

So sad to hear of Mary Lou's passing. Have known Mary Lou for many years and always considered her a dear friend. She and Burl were so good at keeping the dance groups together. We will certainly miss her beautiful smile. My love and sympathy to her family. Bev Gease

Aunt Mary Lou from your nieces and nephews. The Wright Cousins

Message from Joe Kessler

My prayers, sympathy and condolences to the entire family. My dear Aunt Mary gave me love as a boy and man. From my earliest memories, I can remember the love and inclusiveness as I played with my cousins, she helped care for me and played with us. As a man, I remember last summer her love and wisdom shared with me on her front porch on a very hot summer day. She raised a great family, made many friends and contributed greatly to society! Love, Joe, Olivier, Garance and Axel

So sorry to hear of my beloved Aunt's passing... She was very good to me over the years - always a big smile and hug. I will always remember her at Grandpa and Grandma's Ohio farm house helping serve big dinners at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was very intelligent and passed this trait onto her very successful children and was likewise a great role model for her grandchildren. She will be missed! She was surely part of the "Greatest Generation" who came from a farm background with a large family and distinguished themselves in their families, churches and communities. She will be missed. She will be remembered. - Scott Weber, Cody, Wyoming

I met Mary Lou about 10 years ago when I was a Dispatch reporter and wrote a story about the Downtown Dance Club. I was so impressed with her enthusiasm about dancing that soon my husband and I were attending dances and eventually joined the club. Mary Lou worked so hard to keep the club going, taking on several different jobs at once and coming every Sunday to open up the Grandview Senior Center and staying late to close it down at the end of each dance. She was my mentor as I became an officer, sharing her decades of experience with the club. It is not an exaggeration to say that she kept the club going when things looked bleak. I feel lucky to have known her and to have called her my friend.
