Nancy M. (Milligan) Gough

Nancy M. Gough, 90, died Monday evening at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus of complications from a stroke. She was born Jan. 1st, 1927 in Youngstown, a daughter of J. Wallace and Mary Lewis Milligan, and was raised in Poland, moving to Columbus in 1997. A 1944 Poland Seminary High School graduate, Nancy was a secretary at the Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. for many years.  She was an active member of the Poland United Methodist Church, volunteering time in many of the church groups. Nancy was also a Precinct Election Official for many years for her local precinct in Poland.  “Dash”, as nicknamed by her grandchildren, loved spending summers at their family cottage in Conneaut, Ohio, and spending time with her grandchildren and family. Her husband, Robert E. Gough, whom she married in 1963, died in 1984. She leaves a daughter, Susan R. (Scott) Ferguson of Grandview, two grandchildren Charlie Robert and Phoebe Gough Ferguson; Niece Lynne Ellen (Robert) Reitter of Westerville; Grand Nephew Blake R. (Sherry) Reitter of Detroit; Grand Nephew Bryan J. Reitter of Columbus; Nephew Lee W. Kirby, Grand Niece Elizabeth Kirby, and Grand Nephew TJ Kirby of Florida. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters June L. Kirby and Grace M. Hewis. Calling hours will be from 2-3 p.m. Sunday April 23rd at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 1150 W. 5th Avenue in Columbus, with services celebrating Nancy’s life following at 3:15 p.m., Rev. Laurie Clark officiating. Burial services will be in Tuesday April 25th at 12 p.m. at Poland Riverside Cemetery in Poland, Ohio where she will be laid to rest next to her loving husband Bob.
