Welcome to the memorial page for

Stanley Wilbur Morris

January 1, 1926 ~ July 13, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Stanley Wilbur Morris,   91, of Grandview Heights, died July 13, 2017.  Preceded in death by Gail, his loving wife of 54 years, parents Clyde and Mary Morris, brothers Charles, Richard, and David.  Survived by sister Caroline (Richard-dec) Avey; sister-in-law Sue (David-dec); children Jeff ‘Chip’ (Louise), Vickie, Glenn “Butch’, Sandra, Karin (Dave-dec) Schneider, and Keith (Tarah); 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.    He was born in Radnor Township in Delaware County and graduated from Radnor High School. He received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA and was a member of ATO fraternity.   A World War II Navy veteran, he resigned the Lt. USNR commission in 1959. After 39 years, retired in 1988 from Columbus Coated Fabrics, Div. Borden Chemical Company as Director of Engineering. Joined Trinity Methodist Church in 1953 and was involved in Christian Education programs at various age levels for many years.  Participated in the beginning of the Greater Columbus Walk to Emmaus Spiritual Renewal program.  Loved to play bridge, cribbage, and put together jig-saw puzzles; tended a thriving red raspberry patch until Gail died; and made a family favorite applesauce.  Took his role of husband and father seriously and was the stable ‘rock’ of the family.  We learned much about character and responsibility and depending upon the Lord.  We will miss him, but rejoice in his reunion with Mom, the Lord, and other loved ones. Friends may call at the DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 1578 W. First Ave, Grandview Heights, Friday, July 21, 2017, 5-8 pm.  Funeral service will be at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1581 Cambridge Blvd, Marble Cliff on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 10 am,  Rev. Wade Giffin officiating. Interment will be at Kingwood Memorial Gardens, Lewis Center.   Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Foundation and the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.
