Amelia Murdock (Kunkler) Fink, age 71, died peacefully at her home in Baltimore, Maryland on February 26, 2016 after extended treatment for cancer. Amy was a graduate of Grandview Hts. High School (1962) and The Ohio State University (BS in Education Cum Laude, 1966; MA, 1976). She also conducted extensive graduate studies towards a PhD at OSU and Florida State University. She was an Adjunct Professor for many years at OSU and Florida State, and at Towson University and Stephenson University in Maryland. She was a caring and innovative teacher, writer and editor, and started her career as a feature writer for the Columbus Dispatch. She was a curator and contributor for special projects at the Western Reserve Historical Association in Cleveland, the College Park Aviation Museum in Maryland, and the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. She had been active in Baltimore as columnist in the local bi-weekly newspaper, The Messenger, and as a volunteer for Baltimore Tourism, Artscape, Flower Mart and Live Baltimore. Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Betty Kunkler of Grandview Hts. She is survived by her loving husband, David; sons Matthew (Andrea) Schneider of Cincinnati and Douglas (Tanya) Schneider of Arlington, VA; grandchildren Abigail, Andrew, Samson and Lukas Schneider; cousins Susan (Chris) Bell and Betsy (Skip) Bergquist, both of Upper Arlington; brother- and sister-in-law Bob and Sherry Fink of San Rafael, CA; and many life-long, loving friends. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 1578 W 1st Ave in Grandview Hts., where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Hilliard, Ohio immediately following the service.
