Elizabeth Anne Myers Larrick, 86, died Monday, June 14, 2010 at Woodsfield Nursing and Rehab Center in Woodsfield, Ohio. She and her husband of 50 years, Dr. Robert Larrick, were married in Washington, D.C. in 1945. They were the parents of four children, Mary Schmertz (Bill); Patty Lane; Miles Larrick (Gail); and Julie Casto (Steve). She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jennie Scheinbach and her husband Seth Josephson and their children Moshe, Ruth and Dov; Andy Scheinbach; Charlie Lane; Erin Lane and her husband Rush Beam; Paula Connor and her children Trey, Kiera and Makenzie; Matt Connor; Lizzie Casto; and Jessica Sandoval, her husband Roger, and their daughter Evie. After attending Wilson Teachers' College in Washington, Ann graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University where she was a member of Kappa Delta Pi education honorary and Pi Beta Phi fraternity. Following graduation she served as a correspondent for the American Red Cross during World War II. At the end of the war she married Bob Larrick from Wilmington, Ohio and they moved to Charleston, SC where he attended medical school. From there they went to Colorado for a year and then, after her husband's service in Korea, they moved to Columbus. From 1973 to 1981, Ann was a member of the Grandview Heights City Council and served as a representative to the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission, the Mid-Ohio Health Planning Federation, the Animal Control Board, and the Grandview Heights Library Commission. She and her friend Win Keller founded the Grandview Heights Historical Society in the mid 1970's. She and her husband moved from Grandview to Friendship Village of Dublin in 1995. Dr. Larrick died in 1996. Ann was known for her wry sense of humor and her fabulous ability to remember the name of everyone she met. She played a great game of bridge and instilled a keen sense of independence in her children. She will be sorely missed. The family is truly grateful to the staffs of Woodsfield Nursing and Rehab Center and Medi Home Health and Hospice, both in Woodsfield, Ohio, for the excellent care Ann received in her final months. Calling hours at DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 1578 West First Avenue, Grandview Heights will start at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 18, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m.
