Arlene C. (Sheppard) McCoy, age 81, of Grandview Heights, passed away after a brief illness at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, on March 16, 2010. She was born in Charleston, West Virginia, to the late Alonzo and Mary (Sargent) Sheppard, and graduated from East Bank High School, Class of 1947. An avid reader and grower of geraniums, she is survived by her sons, Thomas C. (Marcia) McCoy, II and Richard L. (Jerrie) McCoy, grandson, Matthew A. Friesner all of Columbus, brother Gene (Betty) Sheppard of Marmet, West Virginia, brother-in-law Richard (Ann) McCoy of Houston, Texas, and several nieces and nephews. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. McCoy; brothers, Herbert, Basil and Malcolm Sheppard and sister-in-law Phyllis A. McCoy. In keeping with Arlene's wishes, the family will have a private service in West Virginia.
