Carolyn J. Bowers

Carolyn J. Bowers, 80, resident of First Community Village in Upper Arlington, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 6, 2016. Carolyn grew up in Long Island, NY and after marriage moved to Ohio where she lived in Grandview for most of her life. She was retired from Grandview City Schools in the Food Service Department and was very involved in her daughters’ school activities. She was outgoing, strong and loving and loved by anyone who met her. Member of the Grandview Garden Club, a former Sunday school teacher and involved with youth group activities. She loved ceramics, crocheting and shopping with her daughters. Most of all however, Carolyn loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who referred to her as “Nana”. Preceded in death by her husband Dean, brother Morland Rollins, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Don (Elvira) Bowers. Survived by daughters Mischelle (John) Stukey, Deana (Rodney) Shop and Jenny (Nathan) Nazeck; grandchildren Conner, Brandon and Hannah Shop, Taylor, Aaron and Caleb Nazeck; sister Barbara Pugsley; brother-in-law Gene (Nancy) Bowers, sister-in-law Diane (Byron) Helmbrecht, many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 1578 W. First Ave., Grandview Hts., Thursday 4-7 p.m. where service will be Friday 10 a.m. Rev. Gerald Murphy officiating.
