Gary W. VanVorst

Gary W. VanVorst, 71, of Grandview Heights, passed away June 5, 2009 at First Community Village after a brief illness. Survived by wife of 47 years Mary Lou (Hansel); son John (Kristin) VanVorst; daughters Sue (Bart) Rutledge and Laura (Tom) Gallagher; grandchildren Matt and Summer Calhoun, Elliot and Sydney VanVorst; great grandson Dillion Savage; sister Linda Griffiths; good friends Rick and Deb Calhoun, Art and Nina Rossi and the Devers Family. Gary served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed over the years with the OSU Campus Police, Ohio Public Defenders Office, Northwest Screen and Glass, Confidential Security Agency, Milanos Steak House, Trustworthy Hardware and Zettler Downtown Hardware. Gary loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an outdoorsman with interest in hunting, shooting and fishing. The past few years he loved his work at Trustworthy Hardware helping customers. Friends may call at the DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 1578 W. First Ave., Grandview Hts. Friday, 4-7 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 7 p.m. Pastor Steve Wachtman officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends may, if they wish, contribute to the American Cancer Society or the Mt.
