Stunned. Just looking for old service mates on-line. I served with him at Fort Meade and will never forget him. Sense of humor, resourcefulness, down to earth, etc, etc. What a great experience serving with him...unforgettable. I asked him to swear me in when I reenlisted. A very sad discovery...he passed 4 years ago.

I knew Harold when I was in the Scouts - our little troop met at Trinity Methodist Church. Harold was good to us new kids. He and Jim Guy were a lot of fun to hang around with, and some pretty good role models, too - the kind that kids need at that age. We really looked up to him, and those are some great memories from childhood. My condolences to the family.

Harold was a great outdoorsman. He was the guy you wanted with you when the backpacking was tough and the weather or terrain was bad.His skills and concerns for the well being of others helped out many of his fellow hikers in challenging situations.He was always lively and intersting around the campfire. We all learned so much from Harold. We will miss him very much and will always remember him with great respect. My deep condolences to all family members and friends of Harold.

Harold attended many Buckeye Trail work parties. He was a great worker and fun to have around the campfires at the end of the day. He was also dedicated to maintaining his adopted section of trail in the Pike State Forest. I went on several backpack trips with him and will miss his company. My sincere condolences to his family at their loss.

I went to High School with Harold and we graduated in 1970. I also graduated from ohio state in 1975. I just want to express my condolences and also fond memories of Harold in High School at Grandview. We only had 137 graduates in 1970 and so we got to know each other through my three years there. I remember his smile and sense of humor. He was a nice guy. May he rest in peace.
