Helen Hensley Gross Vance, 88, went home to Jesus on March 18, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Born on July 15, 1924 in Oppy, Kentucky, the daughter of Charlotte Meade and Clarence Hensley. When she was a baby, they moved to Maher, WV where she lived until 1959 before moving to Columbus. Preceded in death by parents, 7 sisters and 2 brothers, son-in-law Donald L. Bare and husband George Vance. Survived by daughters Marsha Bare of Xenia, Lisa (Michael) Kirtos of Galloway; grandsons Nathaniel and Tim Bare, Zachary (Kristy) Haynes and Elijah Kirtos; great grandsons Bryce and Brayden Haynes. She was the Manager of the Brownberry Bread Store for many years. She was a long-time member of Lane Avenue Baptist Church where she had a special ministry of teaching two-year-olds in Sunday School. Friends may call at the DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 1578 W. First Ave., Grandview Hts. Thursday 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at The Crossing Community Church, 5000 Arlington Centre Blvd., Pastor Wayne Nicholson officiating. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
