Jack N. Ely

Jack N. Ely, 73, of Columbus, June 1, 2009 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Veteran of United States Air Force and retired from the Ohio Department of Education. A musician at heart and Founding Member of The Buckeye State Harmonica Club, member of the Society for the Preservation and Advancement of the Harmonica (SPAH) and singing member of the Gillie Senior Center Chorus. "Music is the international language shared by all." An avid sports and life-long Ohio State Buckeye fan. Preceded in death by parents John and Hazel Ely, brothers James and Joe (Marjorie) Ely and sisters Gaynelle (Walter) Grace and Joyce (Paul) Foster. Survived by wife Patricia; sons John and Douglas Ely; sister Janice Garnett; brother John (Jean) Ely; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Linda S. Krohn, Marjorie Spear, Don and Laverne King and Jo Ann Ely; many nieces and nephews and special friend Frankie. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 1578 W. First Ave., Grandview Hts. Interment will be in East Union, Ohio.
