James F. Rook

James F. Rook, age 88, died Thursday, January 21, 2016. Jim was a realtor in Upper Arlington for many years. He was active for decades at First Community Church and served at various times as a deacon, an usher and a governing board member. Past-President of the Tri-Village Lions Club and Past-Board President of Central Community House. He graduated from Grandview High School in 1945 and from Ohio State University in 1950, and lived in Upper Arlington for most of his life. For the last 8 years he lived at First Community Village. Preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Norma, for whom he provided loving care for the final 18 years of her life. Survived by his children Barbara Snyder (Michael), Janice, and James; grandchildren Adam (Julie), Benjamin and Elizabeth Snyder, Gabriel Rook and Grahm Clark; two great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Sharon Kessler; special niece Sarah Reed (Tim Brass). The family wishes to express our deep gratitude to the wonderful caregivers at First Community Village Roxbury Cottages. Funeral will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Burkhart Chapel, First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Boulevard, Columbus, Rev.
