James L. Stegmeier

James L. Stegmeier, 91, December 26, 2013. Preceded in death by beloved wife Margaret and sons Donald and Raymond. Survived by sons Melvyn and Roger; daughter Shirley Makowski; 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was an attorney and retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation where he was employed for 30 years and served as a legal assistant to eight different directors and was chairman of the legal committee of the American Association of Highway Officials. He was considered as an authority on Eminent Domain law and had numerous articles published on that subject. He graduated from Ohio State University where he received a BA, L2B and JD degrees. He served in the U.S. Army in WW II and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for duty in the Battle of the Bulge. Friends may call at the DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 1578 W. First Ave., Grandview Hts. Sunday 2-4 p.m. where service will be Monday 11 a.m. Interment Glen Rest Cemetery. Friends may make contributions to Ohio Health Hospice.
