Jean Elizabeth Blake Carr, 96 of Columbus. Born November 10, 1912 and passed away January 30, 2009 at First Community Village. Preceded in death by parents George T. and Della McDoll Blake and brothers Norwood, Emerson, William Vincent II and her husband C. Whitney Carr. Jean graduated from North High School and received undergraduate and Masters degrees from The Ohio State University. She was a member of Mortar Board, Pi Beta Phi Fraternity and Delta Omicron, the Zeta Beta Chapter. She is survived by her sister-in-law Frances P. Blake, Santa Rosa, CA; nephews William Vincent Blake III (Linda), Dallas, TX and Thomas Blake (Greta), San Clemente, CA; nieces Pamela Peters (Cmdr. Robert), San Diego, CA and Christine Blake, Mill Valley, CA; special friends Betty J. Johnston and Philip C. Johnston and their families. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday Feb. 2, at Union Cemetery with Pastor Jack Witherspoon officiating. A memorial service will be held 10:30 am Saturday, April 4 at First Community Village Chapel.
