HEFT Kathryn A. Heft, 75, October 16, 2006 at her home in Grandview Heights. Born in Petersburg, Michigan. Preceded in death by husband Forrest Heft; parents John and Ione "June" Lane; brother Bruce (Ardella) Lane; sister Mary Monaghan. Survived by brothers Herbert (MaryLou) Lane of Maumee, Ohio and John "Jerry" (Sharon) Lane of Englewood, Florida; many nieces and nephews. She was the Business Services Officer at the College of Biological Sciences of The Ohio State University. Prior to that she was chief telephone operator for Saline, Michigan. She and Forrest were both elected members of the OSU President's Club for her devotion of higher education at Ohio State University. Member of Grandview Garden Club, she loved Forrest's garden and kept it preserved. She NEVER missed an OSU football game - even up until the end. Ironically, that last game was Michigan State (not to be confused with U of M). She remembered and loved Michigan, but when it came to football, OSU WAS IT! She was the "anonymous purchaser" of the pig roast at the block party. She loved children, animals, and had a kind heart. At her request, there will be no service.
