Louis E. Wood, 88, June 26, 2008. Born June 1, 1920 in Waverly, Ohio. He grew up in Marion, Ohio, graduated from Harding High School 1938. In 1941, he joined the US Army, served in 8th Air Force as navigator while stationed in England. He stayed in the Reserves and retired as a Major. He earned a Bachelor's degree in biology and Master's degree in Education Administration from OSU. He began teaching in Union County schools and then went to South-Western City Schools in 1952. He was a teacher and administrator in that system until retiring. Preceded in death by parents, Myrtle Turner and Caleb L. Wood; two sons, Michael L. Wood and Rolfe E. Wood; four brothers and five sisters. Survived by wife of 53 years, Margaret E. Wood, daughters Carol (Steve) Stowe, Susan Wood and grandchildren Casey, Zachary, and Corinne Stowe. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., July 2 at Northwest United Methodist Church, 5200 Riverside Drive, Columbus. In lieu of flowers, a gift to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank or other charity would be appreciated. Arrangements by DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME.
