Ms. Lydia Kreil, of Grandview Hts., passed away on May 1st, 2007. She was born in Tartu, Estonia on March 14th, 1923. She studied medicine at the University of Breslau and continued her studies at the University of Frankfurt. She served as a translator for the American Consulate before coming to the United States in 1952. She went to work for Chemical Abstracts before serving as the medical librarian at Columbus State Hospital in 1960. She was preceded in death by her husband Erni Kreil. She is survived by her three sons, Erni, Erik and Ivar Kreil as well as her sister in Dayton, Ira Voise and her brother in Washington DC, Theodore Kolobow. A remembrance service will be held on Tuesday, June 19th at 10 a.m. in the Palm Court at the Franklin Park Conservatory. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
