Lyman C. Wells, 89, passed away September 23, 2014. He was born in MacBeth, WV on September 15, 1925 to Ripley and Wilma Wells. He came to Columbus in 1930 and graduated from Central High School in 1943. He proudly served his country in WW II in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Long Island. Retired from National Electric Coil after 42 years service. Member of Maize Manor United Methodist Church, York Lodge #563 F. & A.M. and Aladdin Shrine. Preceded in death by wife Marguerite (Spires) Wells and brother Douglas (Edith) Wells. Survived by daughters Susie (Paul) Ross of Mt. Sterling, OH and Karen (Mike) Bays of Franklin, TN; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson; sister-in-law Pauline Wahl; family members David, Ken & Steve Spires, beloved cousin Elizabeth Bogema, many nieces and nephews. He loved his family and lived out his faith every day. He spent time enjoying hunting, fishing and woodworking. After retirement he volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, The Red Cross, Faith Mission and the VA Clinic. Friends may call at the DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 1578 W. First Ave., Grandview Hts., Friday 4-7 p.m. where service will be Saturday 10 a.m. Pastor James Blankenship officiating. Interment Glen Rest Cemetery.
