Marjorie Botkin Baker, 86, passed away April 17, 2011. She was born December 8, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio and was the only child of William and Grace Botkin. Preceded in death by her husband William E. Baker. She is survived by long-time friends Jane Ewald, Ken and Marla Raffield, Zach and Sara Miller, Larry and Elcena Wilkes along with many other friends; cousin Carolyn Johnston and step-son Howard (Robin) Baker and their son William Baker. Marj was a graduate of Grandview Heights High School and The Ohio State University. Her career included serving as personal secretary to the President of Park Federal Savings & Loan and later as the assistant to the Chairman of the Physics Department at OSU. Social organizations included Alpha Delta Phi Alumni Association, Matrix Table, Cambridge Club and the Columbus Miniature Society. Numerous charities filling her time were Twig, Hannah Neil Society and Cat Welfare. Those who knew Marj will remember her best for being an ardent doll house enthusiast. But perhaps her greatest joy was in loving and caring for the several different Persian cats she owned throughout her lifetime. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m. at the DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 1578 W. First Ave., Grandview Hts., Pastor Casey Wilson officiating. Friends may call 1 hour prior to service.
