Marjorie Bloomquist Ramseyer

Marjorie Bloomquist Ramseyer, 90, passed away Monday, August 3, 2009. She was born in Conneaut, Ohio on April 8, 1919. Graduated from Lima (OH) Central High School and Bluffton College. Preceded in death by parents Dr. Earl Winfield and Hazel (Dorn) Bloomquist; brothers: Rev. E. W. Bloomquist, Jr. and George Bloomquist; sister Evangel Robinson; husband Merle Ramseyer; son, Thomas Ramseyer. Survived by sister Susan Warner; four children: Linda (William) Vahey; Jane (Dan) Hubbard; Anne (Steven) Foster; Kristin (Wesley) Stahler. Also survived by grandchildren Edward Hubbard (Laurie Maynell); Betsy Hubbard (Sam Spofforth); Adam (Erin Nash) Ramseyer; David Ramseyer; Emily (Greg) Jellick; Sarah, Matthew and Ben Foster; Sam Stahler. Also great-grandchildren Joseph and Peter Spofforth, Mae Hubbard, Anthony and Ava Jellick, as well as many nieces and nephews including local niece Erica Warner. Marjorie was Vice President of School Management Institute for many years and served as a consultant for the Ohio Department of Education from which she retired. Active member of First Community Church where she served as a member of the news staff, as a deacon, as Mission Coordinator, and as a volunteer at the Trading Post. Calling hours will be held from 1:00-2:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 6 in Brownlee Hall of First Community Church, followed by a Celebration of Life service beginning at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. James M. Long officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Community Foundation or the Heart to Heart Program at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Boulevard, Columbus, OH, 43212.
