Mary Katherine (Olthouse) Davis, 90, March 6, 2010. Born in Wooster Ohio April 7, 1919 as the only child of John and Marianne Olthouse, she graduated from Wooster High School in 1936. She received her BA in English from the College of Wooster in 1940. After earning her MA in French from the University of Michigan in 1944, she was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy where she served in Naval Intelligence until 1946. On December 27, 1947 she married her husband of 60 years, Stanley E Davis, who preceded her in death. After living in Boston MA, Omaha NE and Houston TX, they finally settled in Upper Arlington Ohio in July 1965 where they lived for the rest of their lives. Katherine was class secretary for the Class of 1940 for many years and kept an active correspondence with her many friends. She is survived by her son, David H. (Donna) Davis of Santa Cruz California; her daughter Anne K. (John) McCann of Lexington Texas, grandchildren Kimberly U Davis of Fresno California, Michael McCann of Cedar Hill Texas, Katherine G Thurman of Cartersville Georgia and great-grandchildren Kylie and Abigail Thurman. There will be a private family service and interment. In lieu of flowers, Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME.
