I am so lucky to have gotten to know Matt. He always had a smile on his face, and he made working at the Red Door more fun each day. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and Kelly during this tough time.

Kelli and Family: My sincere sorrow for Matt's passing. I will miss his smile and gentle nature. I particularly remember that he and Marty used to pick out and read books to my daughter Emily, when she was 5 or 6 years-old, at The Red Door. For awhile, she thought all bartenders read children's books. He will be greatly missed.

There is no one like Matt. I will always remember our GREAT adventures - especially after last call. I'm so grateful for the time that I had with Matt & Kelli in Florida as well. The "girls" and I will certainly miss his unmistakable laugh and comedic charm. An honor to have known you...Cheers my friend!

My sympathies for your great loss. I knew and was friends with Matt for many years. We met thru marty at the Red Door. I spent many enjoyable hours with matt at and away from the Red Door. He was always fun loving, a pleasure to be with, a man"s man while still always being a gentleman. Again my condolences on his passing, I will miss him too.

Kelli, I wish I could be there with you. Matt knew how lucky he was to have you to share these last few years with him. You were his rock. I'm sure you will have wonderful memories, as do all of the thousands of people whose lives Matt touched. (Were you to put us all in a room to share "Matt stories", we wouldn't come out for years!) I love you & will talk with you soon. Matt...party on! I miss you! Give a hug to Nina, Larry, Bea & Jim for me!

Matt, I'll think of this as a celebration of your life rather than a lamentation of your death. Never has the Earth seen a more guileless, generous, kind, amiable, friendly, and peaceful character. If there is an afterlife and if there are Dumpsters there, I hope you are successfully diving in them right now.
