Norma Janice Rook

Norma J. Rook, 81, departed this life on April 20, 2011 at Friendship Village of Dublin. Formerly of Upper Arlington, Ohio. Born February 22, 1930 in Glen White, West Virginia . Preceded in death by her mother and father, Nan E. and Aden E. Fleshman and sister, Margaret F. Reed. Will be dearly missed by her husband of 58 years, James F. "Jim" Rook; her children, Barbara R. (Michael) Snyder, Cleveland, Ohio, Janice Rook, Columbus, Ohio and James (Sharon Kessler) Rook, Worthington, Ohio; her grandchildren, Adam (Julie) Snyder, Chicago, Illinois, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Snyder and Benjamin Snyder, both of Cleveland, Ohio and Gabriel Rook and Grahm Clark, both of Worthington, Ohio; her niece, Sarah (Tim Brass) Reed, Reynoldsburg, Ohio and her nephew, Paul Reed, Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from Concord College, Norma moved to Charleston, West Virginia and started a career with GMAC. She soon after relocated with the company to Columbus Ohio where she met and married her husband, Jim. She was a caring and devoted wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. A longstanding member of First Community Church, Norma was active in the Womens Guild and Couples Circle. Norma's family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of The Ohio State University Medical Center Emergency Department, MICU and 8W Rhodes Hall; Friendship Village of Dublin; and HomeReach Hospice for the care and support she received during her recent illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the First Community Church Foundation, 1320 Cambridge Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43212. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 9:00am in the Burkhart Chapel at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio, 43212, The Reverend James M.
