Maxine Vaughan was born in Yellowbud, Ohio, and went to school in a one-room schoolhouse. A bright young woman, she excelled at school, graduating from Kingston High School at age 16 and the Ohio State University at 19. It was there she met and married the love of her life, Robert Vaughan. They made Grandview Heights their home where they raised five children. Her love of children and her family became Maxine's life work. A sweet, gentle person, Maxine shared her abundant love of children by working in nursery and pre-schools at her church, Trinity Methodist, for many years. She passed on her special gift to her own children through kind, helpful, loving parenting advice and her obvious enjoyment in babysitting her many grandchildren. She had a lifelong passion for animals too, and is fondly remembered as always being surrounded by children and pets. Maxine participated in Women's Circle at Trinity Methodist, and in later years she enjoyed many senior center activities in Upper Arlington. She championed and contributed to many causes, especially Huntington's Disease research and her church. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, August 11 at 11 :00 a.m. at Trinity Methodist Church, 1581 Cambridge Blvd. Rev. Philip Brooks officiating. The family will be available on Sunday afternoon, August 10, from 4-6 p.m. at DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 1578 W. First Ave., Grandview Heights. Private interment in Glen Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to Huntington's Disease, 490 City Park Ave., Suite C, Columbus, OH 43215, or Trinity United Methodist Church, 1581 Cambridge Blvd., Columbus, OH 43212.
