Vera Eleanor (Berry) Roof

Vera Eleanor Roof (Berry) of Corning, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 23, 2022 at her home. Born September 18, 1918 to the late Delmer and Ethel Berry of Moxahala, Ohio. She was a homemaker and her home was always open to others. She lovingly raised several younger family members as if they were her own children. She was also well known for her chocolate peanut butter fudge. She was loved by everyone that knew her and leaves a legacy of her kind heart and warm smile. Survived by her daughters, Mary Jo Jones and Sandra E. Buty. Her sister Alice Taylor and sister-in-law Nellie Berry Stanley. Also survived by her grandchildren, Jill Alexander (Chris), Christy Clark (Tony), Perry Jones and Dustin Buty (Laura). Nine great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Thomas Bergin Roof and siblings, Beulah, Eldon, Kathleen, Don, Owen, Dick and Barney. Calling hours will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 28, 2022 at John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, 1177 W 5th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43212 where service will be  Thursday December 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service will be held in Corning, Ohio at Millertown Cemetery following the funeral at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Carmel Hospice 1144 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
