Wendell Wayne Stanley, 73, of Columbus, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 17, 2007. He died at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. He was born in Degraff, Ohio, on August 13, 1933, a son of Walter W. and Elta M. Stanley. He was valedictorian of Monroe High School and graduate of Bliss Business College. He was employed as an accountant for Belmont Casket Company and Bill Owens' Appliance in Columbus. Upon retirement he was a dedicated gardener and diligent servant in helping others and his church. Survivors include a brother H. Marvin (Myrna) Stanley of West Liberty, Ohio and a sister-in-law, Anna Jane Stanley of Huntington, Indiana. A brother, James Darrell Stanley died in 1990. Nieces include Barbara Meier, Huntington, Indiana; Jennifer (Curtiss) Wall, Mooresville, Indiana, and Darlene (Brady) Cassidy, Wooster, Ohio. Nephews are Jerry (Terry) Stanley, Huntington, Indiana; James (Jennifer) Stanley, Brownsburg, Indiana and Norman (Carol) Stanley, West Liberty, Ohio, and 17 great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Covenant Baptist Church, 5100 Dierker Road Columbus, Ohio, on Monday April 23, 2007 at 11AM. Pastors C. J. Deas and nephew James Stanley, II. will be officiating. Private interment will be in the Zanesfield, Ohio, cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Covenant Baptist Church Mission Fund.
