William Herbert Roney

William “Bill” Herbert Roney, age 80, died after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 in Canal Winchester, Ohio. He was born on April 16, 1934 in Massillon, Ohio to the late Mildred and William Kutz. Bill was adopted at age 5 by the late Sherman Roney. He graduated from Massillon High School in 1954. In 1955 he married Jean Klinge and together they raised two daughters Sharon and Barbara. Bill was an active member of the Massillon Lions and was involved in the Lions Minstrel Show for many years. He worked for Republic Steel in Massillon before finding his calling as an interior decorator. His family will greatly miss his advice in this area. Bill was a wonderful salesman and was such a people person that he never forgot the name of anyone he met. He retired from Morris Office in 1999. In addition to his parents, a sister Shirley Michael preceded him in death. Bill is survived by his wife Jean, two daughters and their husbands, Sharon Roney and Jeff Kennedy and Barbara and Dan Eggenschwiler, grandson Brandon Eggenschwiler, sisters Kathy Norris and Caroline Orr, brother Donn Kutz, sister-in-law Julia Hockenberry and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 2-4 pm Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Deyo- Davis Funeral Home, 1578 W. First Ave., Columbus,  with a service to follow.
